The grass verge which is owned by the council has not been cut for weeks in Raleigh Crescent, and the grass is now extremely long. It is too in Nelson Way and Drake Road. When are you going to cut the grass? It is now too long for my small lawnmower to touch it. Last year is was cut more often it seems. I pay my council tax for this don't I? It needs cutting every 2 weeks or so not every 2 months. What is going on?

Observed some new white road markings. Nearly caused an accident because I had to take a second look in case I was seeing things!!
Next time I am in this area I will be wearing my shades.

I first reported the condition of this road back in March. After a very long winter numerous potholes in excess of 20, of various sizes are located along a short stretch of West Park Road probably 50 meters in length. Some of the holes are 50cm across.
Every winter these potholes appear and every year they are repaired. Each year the same potholes get bigger and bigger and so the repairs get bigger and bigger. There is now less tarmac in this stretch of road than potholes. Lots of loose gravel scattered all about the road.
It is interesting to note that the road maintenance department must have made a visit about 3-4 weeks ago because 2 warning signs have appeared advising drivers that the road is "slippery". I guess West Sussex County Council think that this is all they are liable to do. As long as they have given warning then they don't need to do anything else.
The place looks like a 3rd world war torn country, not the UK.
